Communicator with a focus on web and digital channels

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

The Preschool Administration is a small specialized administration with a large and important mission. With us, you will contribute to ensuring that all preschools in Stockholm maintain good quality, both municipal and privately run. Together with the preschool operations in the city, we focus on providing our youngest Stockholmers with a safe and equitable environment in preschool.

At the Preschool Administration, knowledgeable and dedicated colleagues work in a variety of areas of expertise such as supervision and licensing as well as development in all areas of preschool.

The administration's office is located on Kaplansbacken in Kungsholmen.

Welcome to us

The Department of Management Support and IT is responsible for the functions of HR, communication, committee secretariat, IT, registration, information security, and emergency preparedness as well as administration. The functions of committee secretariat, registration, and administration form a unit within the department. The communication function consists of two communicators with different areas of responsibility, and you will report to the head of the Department of Management Support and IT.

We are now looking for someone who wants to work with the administration's communication assignments during a temporary position expected to last from February/March 2026 until January 2027. You will primarily work with ongoing assignments from the operations, our newsletter, and web publishing.

At the Preschool Administration, there are three additional departments;

  • Authority Department
  • Department for City-Wide Development
  • Department for Economics and Governance

At the Preschool Administration, we collaborate between departments to ensure that our work provides the best possible service and development to all preschools in Stockholm.

We offer

We are a young administration with many exciting communication assignments. In addition, we offer a large network within the City of Stockholm, flexible working hours, and wellness benefits. Read more about our benefits here: https://jobba.stockholm/formaner/ (https://jobba.stockholm/formaner/)

Your role

In this role, you will work operationally and strategically with communication support to our departments in priority projects and with ongoing assignments. As we are a young administration, the assignments vary, and you need to be prepared to step in where needed.

You will be responsible for communication and web publishing in our internal and external channels on websites such as the intranet and preschool.stockholm. This means that you will work editorially with the operations to ensure accessible and quality-assured content is published on the websites and with publications of text in our service Find Preschool. You will be part of a budget assignment to develop the content about preschool on the websites.

You will also be responsible for the preschool's newsletter, from planning content (in consultation with the operations) to publication and follow-up. The role also includes collaborating and participating in networks with others in the city regarding communication issues.

Your skills and experience

For this position, you are required to have:

  • a university degree in media and communication studies or what we assess as other relevant education in combination with work experience from similar tasks
  • several years of current experience in operational and strategic communication work
  • experience writing for different channels and target groups
  • experience working with digital channels and tools, including web publishing platforms (e.g., EpiServer/Optimizely), social media platforms, and email marketing tools
  • experience with plain language work and digital accessibility adaptation
  • good knowledge of Swedish and the ability to express yourself well in various channels.

It is an advantage for the position if you have experience in strategic content work for websites, preferably in a larger public organization.

We place great importance on personal suitability and the following competencies:

  • You are communicative and collaborate well with others. You have the ability to see the bigger picture for a specific channel and can initiate work to improve and optimize, together with those who hold information and other editors.
  • You are professional in your role with the ability to adapt your approach to the situation.
  • You are self-driven and enjoy taking responsibility for and driving your work.

If this sounds interesting, you are warmly welcome to apply!

Other

We recruit without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only base it on your CV and a number of questions you will need to answer when applying for the position. We ask that you respond concretely and succinctly to the questions, and that there is a clear link between your answers and your CV. Work samples may be used as part of the recruitment process.

We see diversity as enriching and welcome all applicants. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competencies and thus counteracting discrimination.
